With more than a decade of cable-wakeboard experience and his own unique style, Reuben Buchanan has become one of the icons in cable-wakeboarding scene. Reuben started riding at the age of 19 at one of the cableparks in Australia (Bli Bli). After some years Reuben and his wife decided to travel to the Philippines. Now Reuben works as supervisor at one of the best cableparks in the world (Camsur Watersports Complex) and teaches other riders how to style and work on their tricks.
For some impossible to land, Reuben throws in tricks like the TS BS 7, Crow-Mobe, 313, Indy Front-Flip to blind with his eyes shut. As religion is a big part of his life, Reuben showes dedication to both his family and people in need next to his passion for cable-wakeboarding. "Know Jesus and know life to the fullest" is one of his famous phrases. In the Philippines Reuben got so populair that Biggs company even called a hamburger after him: The Reuben Burger!

What is your nickname? Dont have one.
Where are you from? Im originally from australia where i worked at Bli Bli cable park for many years,but know im one of the managers of CWC in the Philipines.
Clockwise or counter clockwise? Dont know my watch is digital?(normal)
What is your favorite brand to board on? Definately Liquidforce,nothing else cmpares!! Loving the witness with ultra suctions!!

When did you start to ride? When i was 19,im now 31 & got many years ahead of me yet!!
What was your first invert? N Raley was my first trick on a wakeboard with help from one of my favourite coaches & a well known name on the wake park scene Clint Liddy and a couple other operators. as it took me a while to get them consistent.
What is your favorite trick? TS BS720
Which invert have you tried more than 1000 times without a proper landing? None
Any piercings or tattoos? Im not hardcore enough for that although I once got a henna tatoo and i couldnt wait for it to go away,it covered nearly my whole back.
How many times has wakeboarding brought you to the hospital? Never to the hospital but i got the doctor to check me out once or twice after i refractured my colar bone learning to backlip rails back in the day. Although i had broken it really bad a couple months before doing a 25m motorcross jump on my WR400 & hadnt let it heal properly. But it is b again & i dont even remember which colar bone it was.
Which invert is impossible to land? Toe side triple S-Mobe.
What was you best success with wakeboarding competition? 5th in the world 2003 open mens ,8th world Games 2005 & ive got a few second places in Oz for comps over the years.
Gloves or no gloves? What ever keeps you enjoying yourself on the water,people say its not cool,but imo its not cool to if you cant ride because your hands are to sore. But i dont normally wear any gloves. But ive gotta say if it good enough for Bernie its good enough for me!!
How many board shorts do you own? I live in boardies & slippers(thongs)everyday,ive got about 20 pairs but only wear probably 8 of them. I need a boardie sponsor!!
What would you like to see on wakeboarden.org? Forums....I love talking to crew from all around the world & i love it when everyone posts pics on the forums even if there not doing crazy tricks its just great to see pics of different people on different obstacles At different wakeparks doing there thing.
